What is a MediCaring Community? In this episode Dr Joanne Lynn and Professor David Clark discuss the ideas and practicalities behind the concept.
Joanne is a geriatrician, hospice physician, health services researcher, quality improvement advisor, policy advocate and is Director of the Altarum Center for Elder Care and Advanced Illness. Her book, MediCaring Communities: Getting What We Want and Need in Frail Old Age at an Affordable Cost, was published in June 2016. Find out more about Joanne’s research into MediCaring.
David is Professor of Medical Sociology at the University of Glasgow and is currently Principal Investigator on the Wellcome Trust-funded research project ‘Interventions at the end of life – social, comparative and historical analysis to promote global improvement’ and founder of the Glasgow End of Life Studies Group.
